Bio Link & Sales Funnel Glossary

Clear definitions of the terms you'll encounter when building interactive funnels, capturing leads, and selling from your bio link.

Sell in Bio

Sell in Bio is the evolution of the traditional link in bio. Instead of sending all followers to a static list of links, Sell in Bio turns the profile link into a complete sales system: interactive flows with conditional logic, lead capture, personalized routing, and payment capability.

The term was coined by SellB.io to describe this new category. The conceptual difference is fundamental: a link in bio distributes attention (sends people to different places); a Sell in Bio converts it (guides each visitor toward the most relevant outcome for them — a lead, a booking, a sale).

Interactive Funnel

An interactive funnel is a multi-screen digital experience that guides a visitor through questions, choices, and content — adapting the path in real time based on their answers. Unlike a static landing page or link list, an interactive funnel asks questions, segments the visitor, and routes them to the most relevant content, offer, or action for their profile.

In the bio link context, an interactive funnel can accomplish in 3-4 screens what used to require a full landing page: identify who the visitor is, what problem they have, what solution fits them best, and what the logical next step is.

Conditional Logic

Conditional logic (also called branching logic or logic jumps) is the engine behind interactive funnels. It defines which screen a visitor sees based on their previous answers: IF they choose option A, they go to screen X; IF they choose option B, they go to screen Y.

Through conditional logic, a coach can ask "Are you looking for 1:1 or group coaching?" and show completely different calendars, prices, and testimonials based on the answer. A freelancer can qualify by budget before revealing their rate card. A brand can segment by product interest before showing a curated catalog.

Lead Capture

Lead capture is the process of collecting contact information — typically email, name, and/or phone number — from a visitor interested in your product or service. That data is a "lead": a contact who has expressed interest and can be followed up with.

In a conventional bio link, lead capture is typically a subscription form at the bottom of the page — which most visitors ignore. In a SellB.io interactive funnel, capture happens at the moment of highest intent: the visitor has answered questions, identified with the problem, and is about to receive the most relevant resource or offer for them. At that moment, asking for an email has a dramatically higher conversion rate.

Lead Magnet

A lead magnet is a free resource or valuable offer you give a visitor in exchange for their contact information. The goal is to make the exchange (email for something) feel like a fair — or even favorable — deal for the visitor.

The most common lead magnets for creators, coaches, and freelancers include: PDF guides, checklists, templates, video tutorials, free mini-courses, 15-minute consultations, free audits, and first-purchase discounts. A good lead magnet is specific, immediately useful, and directly related to the problem your paid product solves.

Conversion Rate

Conversion rate is the percentage of visitors who complete a desired action. The formula is simple: (conversions ÷ total visits) × 100. The concept is universal, but in the bio link context there are several chained conversion rates worth tracking separately.

  • Flow start rate: % of profile visitors who begin the interactive funnel
  • Completion rate: % of those who started the flow and reached the end
  • Email capture rate: % who left their email during the flow
  • Click-to-book rate: % who clicked the final booking or purchase CTA

A well-designed SellB.io interactive funnel typically achieves completion rates of 40-65%, significantly higher than a static landing page (typically 2-10%).

Audience Segmentation

Audience segmentation is the practice of dividing visitors into groups based on shared characteristics: their goals, problems, budget, experience level, industry, or stage in the buying process.

In traditional marketing tools, segmentation typically happens after capturing the lead — you send a different email based on the segment. In SellB.io interactive funnels, segmentation happens in real time, during the first visit, even before capturing an email. The visitor answers questions, the flow classifies them, and shows them the path most relevant to their profile.

Sales Funnel

A sales funnel is the journey a potential customer takes from first becoming aware of your product or service to making a purchase or conversion. The term "funnel" reflects the visual metaphor: many people enter at the top (awareness), fewer reach the middle (consideration), and fewer still reach the bottom (decision/purchase).

Traditional sales funnels required multiple pages, emails, and tools. With SellB.io, a complete funnel can live inside a single bio link: the visitor enters from Instagram, answers 3 questions, leaves their email, sees a personalized offer, and books a session — all without leaving the flow.
